![]() ![]() Opened the printers and there was my canon printer icon already there and checked. A reboot may helpĪfter this, I do not know. I used the Synaptic Package manager and put canon printers in search. All I had to do was to make sure all of the printing packages were installed, such as cups, etc. I just installed 17.3 cinnamon 64 bit a few days ago. And rpm, well, that's revolutions per minute to me. Remember, I'm new to linux (well, played with it 15 years ago, then stopped) and it's all a learning curve to me. Please help, and please, I don't have any idea what it means when I read here "you need to deb it" or something like that. I haven't the foggiest what I need to do next. So then I go to the Printers option, choose Find, it locates the wirelessly set up Canon printer, but when I am given the chance to select the drivers, it's no different than it was before I DL'd the package. I have the Packages and Resources sub folders that have been created along the way. It has flashed and nothing looks different. I've unpacked it, then clicked on the created install.sh and selected both the run and run in terminal options. nload.html and saved them to a directory. ![]() It is also a scanner that I would like to get working, too. I'm trying to install the drivers for my series printer, Canon Pixma MG2900 series. ![]()
